The world is at our feet!
In a world where technology, terrorism, violence, aggression, job insecurity, social media and consumption triumph, ten young people from Ghent are seeking to find themselves. They are casting a critical look at the world in which they are growing up but simultaneously allow themselves to be surrounded with love and friendship.
'Move On!' launched in October 2015 as an artistic research project. Victoria Deluxe and Karim Kalonji went into the city with ten young people, and shot pictures and footage in places that were significant to those youths. The camera registered how they move, and the way they utilize and color public space, in the literal and figurative sense.
In May we will show the end result, 'Move On!'. The performance will show the various ways in which young people use their city. The players were previously immersed in 'YOUnited9000', and are now getting a chance to contribute to a full-blown production through a follow-up project.
