Spijtig dat Andrew d’Angelo niet komt. Is natuurlijk geen verrassing want heeft hersentumor.
De naam van de vervanger is dan weer uitstekend nieuws: Chris Speed.
Ik kijk er zeer naar uit. Speed speelt trouwens ook al jaren samen met beide anderen van Tyft. Ik vraag me af wanneer hij met Pachora of yeahNO nieuw werk uitbrengt?
Ook benieuwd wanneer Chris Speed met John Hollenbeck’s Claudia Quintet (die nu al 4 schitterende cd’s op rij uithebben) (nog) eens in België te zien zal zijn!

Aki and the boys
Uitstekend concert. Dansend over de toetsen van haar klavier stuwde Aki haar ‘boys’ vooruit. Schitterende dynamiek. Vooral ook genoten van het drumwerk van Paul Lovens.
Voor wie hier niet genoeg van kan krijgen: check ook haar cd ‘St-Louis Blues’ (enja) met muziek van W.C. Handy en op gitaar Fred Frith i.p.v. Eugene Chadbourne.
