“Enchantingly sensual theatre with a critical streak” - De Morgen
A train chugs slowly through the parcelled landscape of Flanders. Ribbon developments, shopping centres and car parks glide by. What does this landscape say about the people who live and work in it?
Landscape and garden are the protagonists in In between violet and green. Based on Monet’s garden in Giverny – and his associated Water Lilies series of paintings – Atelier Bildraum has put together a piece that highlights the interwovenness of image and space. Because together all the gardens form a landscape. And in this way everyone designs a part of the world they live in.
The viewer bears witness to the crafting of a new universe out of maquettes, photos and projections. A world that slowly takes form to the music of composer Thomas Smetryns.
