Music, film, art and food from the metropolis where East and West meet.
After the hugely successful first edition of Istanbul Ekspres (Dutch only) in December 06, De Centrale and Vooruit will organise Istanbul Ekspres 09 from the 16th to the 24th of January 2009. Because Istanbul remains one of the most interesting and most complex cities of Europe. The city is not only literally divided by the Bosporus, it also represents the imaginary divide between East and West, between old and new.
The Istanbul music scene is a fascinating melting pot of styles and genres, which makes the city more than unique. In the streets you hear a multitude of sounds: from classical, folk and romani music to hard rock, hip hop and jazz.
Enjoy the rhythm of Istanbul Ekspres for one week with a varied concert and film programme, an interesting photo exhibition and delicious Turkish food!
A festival pass costs € 35 and gives you access to all concerts and films at Istanbul Ekspres 09.
