China Express: musicians of Ghent in Shanghai en Beijing
After the China Express festival in Vooruit in December 2009, the festival now moves to Shanghai and Beijing in China!
We are proud to announce that Belgium biggest alternative band, Absynthe Minded, will be performing. They will be joined by Mo & Grazz, a collaboration between American soul singer Monique Harcum and DJ Grazhoppa, one of Belgium’s finest DJs.
The programme will also feature collaborations between musicians from Beijing and Ghent. Three talented Chinese musicians – guzheng player Wu Fei, guqin player Wu Na and saxophone player Li Tieqiao – joined forces with three of Ghent’s finest musicians: pianist Heleen Van Haegenborgh, electronic artist Esther Venrooy and drummer Lander Gyselinck. They will prove that is comes as no surprise that the city of Ghent was awarded the title of ‘UNESCO Creative City of Music’.
