With the appearing of the generic city, the streets are more and more under siege by commerce and tourism. Artists can play an activating role in the regaining of (pieces of) public space. This is the starting point of Summercamp Electrified 2011.

Summercamp Electrified is the annual collaboration between timelab and Vooruit/Transdigital. It takes the form of a 10 day intense encounter between 12 local and international young artists with the city of Ghent as the setting and timelab as a motor.

The backgrounds of the artists we invite are very diverse. What the artists have in common is an open spirit and a huge enthousiasm to present their work, investigate the city, look for exchange and develop ideas in a brief timespan.
