‘For Edward Krasinski’ (2010) is a new step in Marc Vanrunxt’s dialogue with the work of composer Morton Feldman. Vanrunxt interpreted the piece as a solo and asked choreographer Salva Sanchis to do the same.

Dancers Etienne Guilloteau and Georgia Vardarou perform both solos next to each other, on separate parts of the stage. Not only does this emphasize the music performed by pianist Yutaka Oya, but it also amplifies the effect of both choreographies.

Vanrunxt does not look for the essence of Feldman’s composition, but instead prefers to show different interpretations of the piece, hereby inviting the viewer to compare the result to his or her own experience.
