A performance on Archimedes, Buckminster Fuller, maths and logic. The thought alone probably makes you shudder.

With ‘A Dance for the Newest Age (the triangle piece)’ Eleanor Bauer proves that you needn’t worry. Bauer and her dancers let their imagination run wild and play around with abstract ideas on space and matter, the transition from solid to liquid to gas and the tension between past, present and future. The result is an extremely visual and often amusing choreography which skilfully avoids becoming ponderous. The setup is also remarkable: the audience is seated around an equilateral triangle in which the six dancers move.

P.A.R.T.S. graduate Eleanor Bauer showed great promise as a member of Rosas and with previous projects ‘At Large’ and ‘(BIG GIRLS DO BIG THINGS)’. De Morgen called the latter performance “an unmissable and stunning feast of enthusiasm”. Bauer more than lives up to expectations with this new show, which premiered in February 2011.
