Violin player Wouter Vandenabeele already has a rich musical career behind him and has travelled all over the world. His coulourful style is clearly indebted to the musical traditions that crossed his path on his many journeys. In Nervin, he brings together several household names in Turkish music: Ertan Tekin plays the duduk, zerna and mey. Özlem Taner is one of the most significant performers of the Turkish popular song. Emre Gültekin is a true ambassador for the saz.
Wouter thinks Nervin is “probably my most prestigious project to date”.

LodoS unites a handful of artistic explorers especially for Istanbul Ekspres. They embark on a musical journey from the Orient through the Balkans to the heart of Ghent and back to Constantinople, where old and new, East and West, tradition and avant-garde meet on the banks of the Bosphorus.

The ensemble performs original compositions rooted in traditional Turkish song and the Oriental repertoire, with jazz and improvisation as a common language. The music and visuals take you on a thrilling ride through the twists and turns of contemporary diversity, infused with gripping images and dark comedy.
