Balthazar is hot! They blew the roof off the Marquee at Rock Werchter. Flemish quality newspaper De Standaard got the chills – and that’s saying something with inside temperatures of nearly 40° Celsius – listed them in their top ten of best bands at Rock Werchter 2010 and called it the best set by a Belgian band at this edition.

Balthazar released their debut album ‘Applause’ in March, along with the first single, ‘Fifteen Floors’. ‘Versatile’, ‘no-nonsene’, ‘a chameleon who adapts his sound colour to the song.’ ‘Like The Cure minus Robert Smith, Gorillaz without the cartoons, Yonderboi backed by a band, Arctic Monkeys with less guitars, dEUS but less arty farty, Portishead but less melancholy or Ozark Henry on the right track’. – Fileunder.nl
