What are we waiting for?

The achievement of the Millennium Development Goals: 8 goals for a better world.

How are we progressing?

Just 5 years to go. High time to check out the progress so far. Sadly, we have a long way to go. It’s time for action!

Our demands

What should Belgium do and demand on the European level?

2015 De Tijd Loopt

In 2005, about twenty Flemish organisations for developmental aid decided to join forces in 2015 DE TIJD LOOPT (2015 – Time Is Running Out), in order to garner attention for the Millennium Development Goals. They are attentively monitoring our progress and continue to urge the public and politicians to achieve the Millennium Goals.

The Wachtnacht

Had enough of waiting? Think it’s time for action? Then come to the Wachtnacht (the Waiting Night). With over 10,000 of us, we wish to send a powerful signal to the world. With a video message sent from the Sint-Pietersplein in Ghent, we want to tell the world that we cannot afford to wait any longer. A message aimed specifically at the world leaders gathered in New York.

And we have more activities in store:

15:00
Debate on the Millennium Goals in the Vooruit Arts Centre.
Or would you rather watch a film? ‘8’ will be screened in the university building right next to Vooruit.

16:00
Time to go to the Sint-Pietersplein!

Eric Melaerts & Friends will accompany several artists, such as Sioen, Luc De Vos and many, many more. The full programme can be found on http://blog.wachtmee.be/campagne/

18:30
Time to record the video message. We need you! Play a part in our video message and join us!

Wachtnacht
We can’t tell you everything yet, but one thing is for sure: we’ll be partying all night long with a concert by a major international artist: Youssou N’Dour!

And if you’re still not tired of waiting, come to the Vooruit Café! Radio station Studio Brussel will be broadcasting live from the Café until the early morning.
