Part of the game is up!

A vacuum cleaner, two deck chairs, several instruments and balls. Lots of balls. Footballs, tennis balls, volleyballs, and so on… These are the main ingredients of ‘Cheval’. On top of that, this assortment of props is used in the strangest ways. Guitars are used as tennis rackets, recorders are played with the nose, etc. In short, this piece promises to be just as kooky as ‘&&&&& & &&&’, one of Defoort’s previous creations that proved a hit with the crowd at the 2009 edition of the game is up! Just as in this earlier piece, of which you can watch a clip here, Antoine Defoort introduces you to an amazingly simple, yet totally absurd universe. Back then, Halory Goerger and Defoort made music with inflatable dolphins, plants and keyboards. This time, the French video and performance artist will be joined in his crazy adventures by his fellow countryman Julien Fournet. ‘Cheval’ is better for your happy hormones than any anti-depressant or stimulant. You’re guaranteed to walk out of Vooruit with a smile on your face.
