A body doesn’t only consist of flesh and blood. It has a story, has its own rhythm, and is the centre of observation and perception. Choreographer Lilia Mestre examines the relationship between the body and the outside world. What is exchanged and what is hidden? How does the body react to elements around it and other bodies? How do these relationships change in the presence or absence of objects and performers? And where does this interaction lead to? Sadness, joy, conflict, and so on. ‘Moving You’ wants to find creative impulses in everyday life. The performers are driven by emotions and have a strong desire to move the audience.
Lilia Mestre is a Portuguese dancer who has worked with artists such as Hans Van den Broeck, Mette Edvardsen, Martin Nachbar and Kate McIntosh. Together with Davis Freeman (‘Saving Lies’, ‘Assassins’), she is one of the driving forces behind theatre company Random Sceam.
