Political and social systems are collapsing, people can’t get a grip on life and we don’t have a clue where we and the world are headed. Don’t panic, everything will be alright. Well, that’s what De Koe claims in their new trilogy ‘De Wederopbouw van het Westen WIT-ROOD-ZWART’. ‘WIT’, the first part, will premiere this season. The piece will be performed by Peter Van den Eede (Van Vlees en Bloed, Terug naar Oosterdonk), Willem De Wolf and Natali Broods (STAN).
Two men and one woman are in search of a new beginning, a blank slate. They look back on their youth in the seventies, with the Apollo, the Centre Pompidou, ‘Last Tango in Paris’, and so on. But most of all, they struggle with questions such as “What kind of world do we live in?”, “Is it possible to create an entirely different world?”, “Which general explanations are at hand?”, “What is good and evil, and why?”, “How is knowledge created, and how reliable is it?”, “Which elements influence our view on the world and the place we have in it?” Lots of questions and difficult topics, but De Koe will show us the way to the answers. Or tries to at least. Promise.
