No landmarks in sight.
Only the darkness of white as the black thread in an embroidered world.
Are you ready to see nothing at all?
Then don’t forget to leave your own dimension at the door,
In a white universe you are about to become a part of.
Time to find your own location…
As you may have noticed, knitting is hip again. Thanks to Naomi Kerkhove, sewing might be next. When her friends went out, Kerkhove didn’t have enough money to join them, so she kept herself busy with her sewing machine. After creating a few tiny pieces of art that one evening, she never stopped. Naomi concocts magical universes you want to dive into with needle and thread . Using no more than a black thread embroidered on a white sheet, she manages to create colourful places and characters as she builds her own set. With a tiny camera, she takes the audience on a trip through her textile world. Multi-talented musician Ruben Nachtergaele of Kapotski, Boomfanfare and others will provide a suited, filmic score.
White Out is a small, but incredibly charming performance for kids and grownups.
- For the performances on the 22nd and 23rd of October, you can also get a combined ticket for this event and the performance by Ricky Seabra and Andrea Belfi & Mirco Santi.
