Stilllivingrooms is a small but unforgettable living room performance. Mirco Santi is one of the founders of Home Movies, Archivio Nazionale del Film di Famiglia that collects, digitises and revalues old Italian family movies since 2002. The movies date from the ‘20s to ‘80s of the past century. Mirco has been working with these movies for some years. For ‘Stilllivingrooms’ he will show the images to a limited audience. But instead of screening the movies in a cinema, they will be projected in a living room, using the walls, doors, windows and furniture as a projection screen. ‘Stilllivingrooms’ explores the boundaries of private and public space as Santi infiltrates the privacy of the home with eerie images of anonymous families from a different era and a different part of the world. Musician Andrea Belfi will contribute to the intimate atmosphere with amplified subtle domestic sounds (a knock at the door, something ticking against the window, the practically inaudible trembling of furniture).
