Pianist Jef Neve is like a breath of fresh air for Flemish jazz. He deservedly won The Flemish Music Industry Award (MIA) for ‘Best Musician’ in 2009 and 2010. Neve has made jazz and classical music accessible for a wide audience thanks to his scores for films such as ‘De Helaasheid Der Dingen’ (‘The Misfortunates’) and ‘Dagen Zonder Lief’ (‘With Friends Like These’) and his live performances with pop musician Gabriel Rios. In September 2010, Neve will release a new album with his trio, consisting of Teun Verbruggen on drums, young Dutch talent Ruben Samama on double bass and Neve himself on the piano.
