“Flower girls”, it sounds innocent enough, but it hardly is. Arne Sierens and Cie Cecilia explore the underworld of pleasure and debauchery. A madam and her “flower girls” helps her customers “relax” and “unwind” in a private club. The working girls don’t have it easy and competition is rife. You either bring in the bucks or get kicked out. And once you’re over the hill, your can forget about your career.

Arne Sierens was inspired by Asian films and novels, but also by Von Sternberg’s and Fassbinder’s Lola films. The leads will be played by Mieke Dobbels, who made quite an impression with her touching portrayal of Alabama in last season’s ‘The Broken Circle’, and Titus De Voogdt, known for his roles in films such as ‘Anyway The Wind Blows’ and ‘Steve+Sky’ and his work with Compagnie Cecilia. Robrecht Vanden Thoren made his mark with Compagnie Cecilia’s Altijd Prijs. Jean-Yves Evrard will perform a live score, just as he did for Altijd Prijs.
