We secretly suspect that Matthew Houck, a.k.a. Phosporecent, is Will Oldham’s baby brother, or a cousin of Iron and Wine’s Samuel Beam. It would certainly explain the musical similarities in their work. In May 2010, he will be releasing his new album, ‘Here’s to Taking It Easy’. Funnily enough, when you listen to the first track, ‘It’s Hard to Be Humble’, on his Myspace, it seems like he’s taken his own advice.
