Korte Metten combines everything from short performances and musical interventions to video and installation work and lectures and powerful statements. In short, an open day in the minds of creative spirits; adventures in the evening hours! At this edition:

Kurt Vandendriessche – Perfides (tryout / performance)

What happens when the roles are reversed in a traditional child-parent relationship? Actor Kurt Vandendriessche put his 5-year-old daughter in the director’s chair. All costumes and ideas sprung from her creative mind.

Matthew Shlomowitz – Letter Pieces (performance)

In 2007, Matthew Shlomowitz embarked on a series of short performances in which actors and musicians got directions in the form of sheet music. By now, he has composed 8 performances, a selection of which will be shown at Korte Metten.

Shila Anaraki, Mark Knoop, Tom Pauwels, Tomma Wessel (performers)

Wim Reygaert – Approximatie #1 – Composition for 8 PCs (media art/music)

This composition for 8 personal computers by Wim Reygaert will be performed by 12 musicians with the help of computers, inkjet printers and fans.

Valentijn Goethals & Tim Bryon – Pieces of Quiet (music / research project)

You might know Valentijn Goethals and Tim Bryon from their band Black Heart Rebellion. Their new research project Pieces of Quiet seeks to visualize their music by connecting their instruments to a TV screen.

Eva Cox (literature)

Young Flemish poet Eva Cox became known after performing at poetry slams and publishing her work in literary magazines such as DWB, De Brakke Hond, Yang and the Poëziekrant. At Korte Metten, she will read from her work.
