According to the people at reggae.be, Alborosie was one of the most remarkable newcomers of 2007. In that same year, he gave a memorable concert at Reggae Geel. The 32-year-old former policeman Alberto D’Ascola, a white Sicilian with blonde dreadlocks and former frontman of National Tickets, emigrated to Jamaica and has since become one of the country’s most unlikely reggae heroes. Today, Alborosie is one of the most celebrated white performers of contemporary roots reggae.
