Before showing their talent at the Dutch showcase festival Eurosonic, upcoming artists Liz Green and Choir of Young Believers will treat the Belgian audience to a concert.

LIZ GREEN
Liz Green, who was voted “Best New act” by Mojo only last year, is best described as an heir of Karen Dalton or a female Devendra Banhart. At the presentation of her album with The Cave Singers at the Minnemeers last year, she entertained the audience between songs with a shadow theatre. Cutting Edge thought that Liz Green was “the revelation of the evening, someone we’ll hopefully be hearing a lot of in the future.”

CHOIR OF YOUNG BELIEVERS
Danish band Choir of Young Believers were the darlings of Rolling Stone music magazine last summer. Justified? Their debut EP ‘This Is For The White In You Eyes’ is teeming with heartfelt melancholy indie rock penned by 24-year-old songwriter Jannis Noya Makrigiannis’s – formerly of Lake Placid. Makrigiannis’s musical influences are as diverse as his Danish, Greek and Indonesian roots: from Fleet Foxes and Architecture in Helsinki to the Beach Boys. The exact lineup of COYB is always a surprise.

“This Is For The White In You Eyes contains impressive and finely orchestrated pop rooted in folk. Jannis has all the talent of Stuart Murdoch and Andrew Bird, but the Choir Of Young Believers also has a distinct Scandinavian influence. Listen to Hollow Talk and Next Summer first and we guarantee you’ll be back for more!” – Live XS

“A rich album by a versatile talent we’ll surely be hearing more of in the future.” – VPRO
