Being compared to Antony and the Johnsons and Nina Simone is a great honour, but Dez Mona surely deserves it. The band, driven by singer Gregory Frateur and bass player Nicolas Rombouts, released their new album ‘Hilfe Kommt’ – produced by Paul Webb (Talk Talk, Beth Gibbons & Rustin’ Man) – in October.
Dez Mona revolves around Frateur’s amazing voice, but the music, influenced by jazz and gospel, provides a wholly unique sound. ‘Hilfe Kommt’ presents music of the people, not of technology.” – De Standaard
