In March 2007 Marc Ribot and his trio Ceramic dog converted the Theaterzaal into a battflefield where heavy rock as well as arty avant-garde set the tone. In 2008 they released their debut album Party Intellectuals, reason enough to invite them once more. Because, really, you should take every chance you get to see a guitarist like Ribot, who learned to play from Tom Waits and John Zorn (or was it the other way round?). Ribot unleashes the wild dog inside him, drummer Chess Smith (Xiu Xiu, Secret Chiefs 3, Trevor Dunn’s Trio Convulsant) rips him to shreds and bass player Shazhad Ismaily (Laurie Anderson, Will Oldham, Jolie Holland, Secret Chiefs 3) puts all the pieces back together again.
Belgian band Lidlboy (with Eric Thielemans and Jozef Dumoulin) will be the support act.
