Will everything we achieve eventually return to dust? Including us? Will a phoenix rise from the ashes? Ashes deals with mortality, loss and fear of letting go. The performance is driven by the contrast between energetic movement and theatrical passages, between the frugal scenery and the colourful characters, the intimate arias and dynamic rhythms in the Händel score. The cast consists of dancers who have performed with Rosas and Jan Fabre, as well as dancers with an acrobatic background. After Bâche and IMPORT EXPORT, alto Steve Dugardin will once again sing the lead, supported by a soprano, violin, cello, lute, accordion and marimba.
