The 0910 season opens with a bang, with the Young@Heart chorus giving the Rolling Stones a run for their money. Because although the members are all around 80, all they want to do is perform. You might expect these pensioners to opt for classic themes, but instead they sing refreshing covers of songs by The Pixies, Morrissey, Bruce Springsteen, The Buzzcocks or Sly and The Family Stone! Talking Heads’ David Byrne was so impressed with them that they recorded a track together. If you saw the documentary Young@Heart, which won the audience prize at the Ghent Film Festival, you will know what to expect with End of the Road, the third world tour of the chorus: a high-energy show, which will draw smiles as well as a few tears.
