A thousand words, Styrofoam’s fifth studio album, is a gem of catchy indie pop mixed with electronica. If previous work by theBelgian band was closer to The Notwist and Lali Puna, frontman Arne Van Peteghem now shows his more poppy side. With the help of the producer of Sebadoh, Eels and even Jessica Simpson, Styrofoam embraces a more melodious sound, but not without the usual bleeps and layers. And Styrofoam performs this balancing act perfectly.
