Lost Channels, the fourth album by Great Lake Swimmers, is set against the backdrop of the Thousand Islands, a group of islands off the American and Canadian coast. When recording, the band retreated to an ancient castle and a church on one of the islands. The band fronted by singer/guitarist Tony Dekker conquered the hearts of many music lovers with their 2003 debut. Six years on Great Lake Swimmers sounds more like a band than ever before, but new folk, Americana and Dekker’s fragile voice remain the most prominent ingredients.

Marissa Nadler will also release her fourth album this year. Her dreamy folk was honoured with the award for ‘Outstanding Singer-Songwriter of the Year’ at the Boston Music Awards. Her music and lyrics are interwoven with gothic influences, as you can hear on her musical version of an Edgar Allen Poe poem. With her dreamy voice she sends chills right down your spine.

Alaska in winter is an electronica project by Brandon Bethancourt, who recorded his last album with the help of Zach Condon.
