Nawal El Sadaawi is an Egyptian gynaecologist, feminist, political activist and writer. With her book The Hidden Face of Eve: Women in the Arab World, she – once again – caused quite a stir.

This evening, rector Paul Van Cauwenberge and professor Eva Brems will offer her a chair at Ghent University. Afterwards, El Saadawi will hold a lecture with undoubtedly strong opinions, after which she will talk with Marleen Temmerman (gynaecologist, professor) and professor Sami Zemni (Third World Studies, Ghent University)
