This is not the first time Julien Maire is a guest at Vooruit. In 2006 he exhibited Low Resolution Camera and Demi-Pas at Almost Cinema and at Vooruit’s 25th birthday he presented Digit during which he made letters appear with his fingers, just like magic from behind his writing desk.
The performance at the opening night of the game is up also appeals to the imagination. With Modèle pour l’Apocalypse Maire has constructed a special urban development plan for the future. When you take a closer look at his architectural model, you can see that it actually consists of slowly collapsing apartment blocks. Maire will perform Modèle pour l’Apocalypse during two hours, the audience is free to come and go as it pleases.
In February, Julien Maire and the International College for Higher Education GROEP T got to work at the Artefact festival in Leuven, where he had a whole storey at his disposal.
