The company Sponsored by Nobody, founded in New York in 2005 will be visiting Europe for the first time at the game is up!

Their plays take American society today as their starting point and strive to catalyze social change. This goes for W.M.D. (just the low points), in which they reconstruct the 8th of January 2004, as well. On this day, a report emerged that made clear that no W.M.D.s were found in Iraq. The report wiped out the whole reason for the war in Iraq.
However, the report was hardly mentioned in the US press.

What did make the news that day? Sponsored by nobody reconstructs that 8th of January 2004, aided by non-news and human interest stories. These insignificant stories are interwoven with quotes from the report, views from an Iraqi perspective and texts about the relevance of art. W.M.D. (just the low points) is not only a criticism on politics and media, but it also questions the role of art and theatre. Can art tell the truth? Is there such a thing as activist and socially relevant art?

One of the of the company’s members is Jessa Wildemeersch. This Belgian actress is succesful in the States as well as in Belgium. She appeared in Flemish TV series such as Heterdaad, Witse and De Kavijaks and the film Verlengd Weekend.
