Korte Metten keeps it short, literally and figuratively speaking. One evening of Korte Metten shows you what usually can’t be shown in one evening: short performances, musical interventions, video, installations, readings, action and reaction…
Vooruit’s Korte Metten is a hothouse for all things small, short, temporary, hybrid or improvised, an open day for creative minds, adventures in the evening hours!
Busy Rocks – Dominos & Butterflies (dance /preview)
Busy rocks, a collective consisting of five young P.A.R.T.S. students, has created a complex choreography of attraction and repulsion out of short moves.
”One body propels the next, impulse after impulse, accident after accident. Dominos and Butterflies pictures both a relentless catastrophe and a complexly designed machinery in which the forces of nature are compelled to do the work.”

Mette Edvardsen & Philippe Beloul – Every now and then (performance / preview)
Edvardsen and Beloul are into books. Members of the audience will get a book to leaf through. During the performance the theatre space and the pages become intertwined.
”Is the space in Every now and then the representation of the book or is the book the representation of the space? What came first, the book or the space? Is one a model of the other? Are we performers models of the figures in the book? Is the performance a memory of what was happening in the book, or is the book the trace of the performance? And if so, how is it possible that the book exists before the performance is over?”

Michel Massot (jazz)
Tuba player Massot, who just recently played at Vooruit with the Tuur Florizoone trio, will perform on the Vooruit stairway.

Alda Snopek – Drift (video)
Video artist Alda Snopek’s work focuses on perception, reality and illusion.

The shortest book presentation ever: Joost Vandecasteele
Stand-up comedian (Comedy Casino Cup) and theater maker (Abattoir Fermé) Joost Vandecasteele presents his debut Hoe de wereld perfect functioneert zonder mij – in Dutch.
