Saxophone player and composer Nicolas Ankoudinoff feels at home in every genre: from pop to classical music, jazz and noise. With his quartet Animus Anima he also contaminates jazz with rock, contemporary classic and subtle electronica. Ankoudinoff himself calls his music “the missing link between Pink Floyd and Archie Shepp”.
Guitarist Benoist Eil blends sound with feedback improvisations. Tuba player Pascal Rousseau is a household name on today’s classical music scene in Paris and percussionist Etienne Plumer gets inspiration from Afro-American beat music. On stage this patchwork turns into a bittersweet cocktail of visionary, ironic, hard jazz rock-like music, with a sensual ballad and wild outbursts of improvisation here and there.
