This Californian quintet’s sound is a clear reference to underground pioneers Neurosis and Godflesh, but they fit in better with like-minded bands such as Cult of Luna, Pelican, Russian Circles, Jesu, Tool and Mogwai, with whom they toured several times. Isis specializes in long, repetitive songs that flirt with post-rock and ambient. Isis’ s latest album, In the Absence of Truth, released on Ipecac (Faith No More’s Mike Patton’s label) is a milestone in contemporary metal. This will be Isis’s only concert in Belgium this autumn!
