Confuse the cat – the name is taken from a Monty Python sketch – is edgier than ever. The band evolved from innocent pop on their debut album to a sound pushed on by driving beats and tearing guitars. Just think of their radio hit Akela: British 80s rock in the style of New Order and The Clash with a modern twist. With Luuk ‘Shameboy’ Cox in the producer’s chair, Confuse the cat’s newest album Kericky (out in October) has got a distinct dance feel to it.
British band Slow Club stands for cheerful indie pop somewhere between Bright Eyes’ calmest work and Tilly & The Wall’s noisiest moments. The EP Let’s all fall back in love released on Moshi Moshi is the duo’s first exploit, but in spite of their name, things might go very quickly for Slow Club…
