This sprawling comedy is a poignant view of the lives of three friends settled into meaningless jobs that barely keep them afloat while helping to finance their dreams of bigger adventures. Their unique yet universal stories capture their struggles that are at turns funny and tragic, but always honest. A.K. is a Ukrainian immigrant who has one goal in life: to reach stardom with his gypsy punk band Gogol Bordello. To finance his dream he takes a job as a cross-dressing dominatrix. He shares a dilapidated apartment with two girls, Holly and Juliet. Holly is a ballerina who dreams of dancing with the Royal Ballet, but ends up as a stripper and pole dancer at Beechman’s Exotic Gentleman’s Club. Juliette works at the local drug store of Sardeep, but is constantly pre-occupied with the starving children of Africa and raises money for them in the pharmacy.
