Squarepusher is coming! This Club Midi concert will be his first in Belgium! Rumor has it that he’ll be bringing a drummer, and that there will be LED screens on stage.
The godfather of IDM (along with Boards of Canada and Autreche) is known for his possessed structures, disturbed drums and bass lines and breakbeats. Squarepusher is not one for marketing, but has gained fans nonetheless, including Thom Yorke (Radiohead), Andre 3000 (Outkast), Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers) and director Sofia Coppola (whose films Lost in Translation and Marie Antoinette featured his music).
In his drum ‘n’ bass Squarepusher frequently samples his own playing on the bass guitar. His latest album, Just A Souvenir (Warp), features even more musicians. Listen to a song from Squarepusher’s new album on Warp’s MySpace or watch a Squarepusher video and interview.
