Brazilian DJ and producer Amon Tobin is known for his mastery of the art of sampling and cinematic music. Rolling bass lines, breakbeats and subtle influences from jazz are Tobin’s main trademarks. For his most recent album Foley Room he sampled self-made field recordings. After making the soundtrack for the videogame Splinter (which he performed in Vooruit in 2005), he went on to compose the score for Hungarian filmTaxidermia.
In Vooruit Amon Tobin will perform a DJ set.

This concert is part of Club Midi, a collaboration between Vooruit and Democrazy. Vooruit opens its doors to music club Democrazy. The joint concert series Club Midi, which originated in 2005, will be revived in the autumn of 2008. Club Midi stands for a wide array of genres: from dirty rock ‘n’ roll to alternative pop, intimate folk and singer-songwriters, electronica, dance music and theme evenings on reggae, soul, hip hop, hardcore, drum and bass, etc.
Vooruit and Democrazy will organize, promote and produce these concerts together.
