Meg Stuart and Philipp Gehmacher are two choreographers who each have their own unique style: Stuart is known for her feverish, expressive imagery, while Gehmacher has a more subdued style. However, the two of them do get along very well, and that is the reason why they decided to work on a choreography together. According to Flemish Quality newspaper De Standaard, MAYBE FOREVER combines “Stuart’s atmosphere palette and Gehmacher emotional rigidity in a creation that allows both to discover something new about themselves.” Stuart and Gehmacher portray fragments from a love relationship, situated between meeting for the first time and saying goodbye, passion and melancholy. Brussels-based singer-songwriter Niko Hafkenscheid performs a suitable score consisting of waltzes, ballads and torch songs.
