“Two old ladies were sitting on a bench under a tree in the rain. For a long time, neither said a word as they stared at the rain and the low, grey sky. Until the one said to the other: ‘Are you waiting for someone?’ (translated from: Twee oude vrouwtjes, Toon Tellegen).
Actresses An De Donder and Sien Eggers will bring these two heart-touching ladies from Toon Tellegen’s book Twee oude vrouwtjes to life. While they wait for what is to come, the elderly ladies get talking. A quest for words, with smiles and an unexpected tender kiss, but also with reproaches and tears. Especially for this performance, LOD composer Dominique Pauwels adapted a few song texts by Toon Tellegen. These will be performed by four elderly singers who, together with the two ladies, will take you on a journey into Tellegen’s playful world of words.
