In Forces, dancer/choreographer Ugo Dehaes proves that physics does not need to be boring and can even lead to an exciting dance performance. Forces shows his fascination for the tiniest physical particles as well as for the great laws of physics that keep our world in balance: gravity, electromagnetism and nuclear power. In two-week periods, Dehaes worked on this physical theme with several dancers in cultural centres across the country. These collaborations lead Dehaes to create short ‘popsongs’ as he calls them: short dance fragments which can be presented in different order during the performance. Just like songs change place on a concert playlist. No two performances will be the same. On top of that, Dehaes will use video for the first time so that all dancers will be virtually present.
