Inspired by Shakespeare and German poet Hölderlin, Jan Decorte, Compagnie Marius and the Kaaitheater present Wintervögelchen: a joyous performance about power, jealousy, despair and love. Last season saw the rebellious dramatist return to Vooruit – after an absence of several years – with Müller/Traktor. For this production he worked with the wild, poetic oeuvre of his hero Heiner Müller, one of Germany’s most important dramatists. Wintervögelchen is a compelling play that places authenticity and a direct performance centrally.
Decorte found the perfect partner in Compagnie Marius, one of the offshoots of De Onderneming, which no longer exists. Marius typically performs playful and surprising shows on location, but especially for Jan Decorte they are willing to play in an indoor theatre.
