The end of the world is near. At least that is what performance artist Kris Verdonck wants us to believe: he shows apocalyptical images of melting ice caps, flooded cities, threatening weapons of mass destruction…These ten scenes are presented by Johan Leysen, a lone survivor who reports on the situation like a Greek messenger. He is surrounded by a carrousel of figures (robots, humans or cyborgs) that come to the fore over and over again. In the 0708 season Kris Verdonck came to Vooruit with l/ll/lll/llll, which clearly made an impression on the Vooruit community: “A magnificent, fresh and impressive performance”. Johan Leysen also took the Vooruit stage as emperor Hirohito in Wolfskers by the Toneelhuis.
