Health is from L.A. You can tell by the way they look, but also by the way they sound. The band produces an energetic mix of everything that has been popular among hip-shaking guitar aficionados in the past years: Liars, Black Dice, Deerhoof, Gang Gang Dance and Animal Collective. These guys need only three minutes to blow you away and kick a smile on your face.
Ten years ago, Ben Chasny introduced his musical enlightenment project Six Organs of Admittance. Drone-fuelled raga’s, psychedelic folk ballads and Eastern inspired improvisations were the main ingredients. His critically acclaimed albums were released on labels such as Time-Lag, Holy Mountain and Drag City. Together with the likes of Devendra Barnhart he was at the helm of the folk revival. Chasny summoned the spirits of the Krautrockers, fingerpickers and acid troubadours of the seventies and gave a new spiritual consciousness to modern hippies.
Last year he toured as a duo with his personal Magick Marker. This year he will hit the road with his full band. Experience the cosmic winds!
