The literary festival of the year is coming: Zogezegd in Ghent!
The curator of this year’s second edition will be Flemish author Anne Provoost, known for novels such as Falling and In the Shadow of the Ark.

Festival of the imagination

What do fiction, chocolate and intimacy have in common? You will find them all at Zogezegd in Gent, the literary festival of the imagination. Forty years after May 1968, we investigate what is left of the ideology of the period: utopia, imagination, a strong belief in the future and sexual freedom. Where are we in 2008 and how does this surface in contemporary literature? The way we deal with the future and the past, with pleasure and imagination will be discussed in the presence of more than thirty authors. With chocolate books, big ideals, dirty songs, Classic Authors, open debates, Louis Paul Boon’s phenomenal ‘feminateek’ – a legendary picture collection of women in all shapes and sizes – and a great harvest of books.

Even though the programme is not complete yet, we can assure you that the public will be treated to a fine selection of literary names.
