After a phase of tranquillity and reducing choreography to its bare essentials, Marc Vanrunxt takes a new path in his reinvention of dance. This time he opts for heterogeneity and investigates how choreography can function when it is stripped of its core and looks for its reflection in a landscape of elements that have their roots elsewhere.
Showtitle # 63 BLACK MARK is a performance without a single starting point, a process in which different stories find each other. Marc Vanrunxt asked a number of artists with whom he had worked before to contribute to the performance. Form, duration, size and medium are not defined so it will be a surprise when and what kind of work author and dramatist Bart Meuleman and artists Robert Cash, Sophie Nys, Danai Anesiadou and Koenraad Dedobbeleer will insert in the process. The choreography will also be heterogeneous; Vanrunxt takes his collaboration with Marie De Corte, Etienne Guillotteau and Eva Kamala Rodenburg to the next level and brings them together for the first time for this creation.

On stage, form and movement meet, make temporary and unexpected liaisons and then carry on regardless. An underlying inquisitiveness and their almost random coexistence at the same place and time are the only elements that bind these artistic processes. The viewer becomes the epicentre of this dismantled Gesamtkunstwerk.
