The papers think “Reverend Billy is seriously hilarious” and his show “as entertaining as it is jaw-dropping”. Reverend Billy and the Church of Stop Shopping are an undisputed phenomenon in the US.
As a street preacher and activist, Reverend Billy frequently takes the streets to make people aware of their excessive shopping behaviour. He and his choir will shortly release an album featuring catchy gospel songs with hilarious titles such as Back away from the Walmart, Lover Logo and Shop Enough for Africa. After performing during the first week of the festival, he will talk about his work in the Salon in the second week. Who is the man behind Reverend Billy?
