Reverend Billy and the Stop Shopping Gospel Choir believe that consumerism is overwhelming our lives. He and his choir regularly take to busy shopping streets with banners and loudspeakers to make people aware of their excessive shopping behaviour.

With the help of director Savitri D., Billy spreads his message like a true televangelist. He’s been predicting the Shop-o-calyps for years and performs live credit card or Starbucks excorcisms. Especially for the game is up! Billy leaves his usual territory and takes the stage for a hypnotic sermon.

In the festival’s second week he will return to his natural habitat: together with Savitri D. he will try to convert shop-a-holics in the streets of Ghent. If you would like to take part in their campaigns, please send an e-mail to revbilly@vooruit.be. On Thursday the 13th of March Reverend Billy and Savitri D. will talk about their work in the FrictiesSalon.

Who knows, Reverend Billy might even show up at our Happy End party!

This performance is in the 5 For Students March Top 5
