Even though Brussels-based Monsoon is one of Belgium’s best kept music secrets, the band fronted by singer Delphine Gardin released its fourth album a couple of months ago. After Monsoon, Speak and The Weird Zoo they are back with The King of Eyes, Tits & Teeth.
They stay true to the sound of their earlier albums – combining Gardin’s clear and restless voice with Joël Grignard’s dreamy and spine-chilling compositions – while also adding some new elements: sharp and provocative rock, intriguing stories and danceable rhythms. Or in the band’s own words “Strange individuals still cross our path, but this time round we have tamed them and asked them to join us for a dance at a wild carnivalesque ball.
The Belgian press has described their music as “genius” and “sultry”. You’ve just got to see these guys live!
Sleepindog, lead singer Chantal Acda’s solo project, will warm up the audience with dreamy folk pop. Acda will present her second album, Polar Life, which is full of pure and quiet songs.
This concert is included in the 5 For Students top 5!
