Guitarist Peter Hertmans is a technical phenomenon. The music he has written for this quartet keeps in tune with the ECM label and European jazz tradition. The quartet play modern jazz with a touch of classical music and Coltrane.

At the beginning of 2006, Hertmans joined forces with sax player Daniel Stokart, a musician that had intrigued him for a while because of his typical ECM sound. For Hertmans and Stokart, the ECM label represents the sound of European jazz, shaped by jazz masters Kenny Wheeler, Bobo Stenson and Keith Jarrett. With Dutch double bass player Theo De Jong, Hertmans found the experience and the maturity he was looking for. The quartet was completed by drummer Lionel Beuvens, a young jazz cat with a very harmonious and melodic drumming style. The four gentlemen feel comfortable with each other, are not afraid to dig deeper in their music and, most of all, swear by interaction between themselves as well as with the audience. This tour will bring an evening full of modern jazz, with references to classical music, symphonic rock, John Coltrane’s spirituality, Indian music and modern guitar music. Their first CD will be released in early 2008 by Brussels label Mognomusic.

Michael Moore’s new trio is reminiscent of his ‘old’ Clusone trio (Moore/Reijseger/Bennink). Playful jazz and witty dialogues are among Michael Moore’s trademarks. Han Bennink joins up performance and music and accordeon player Will Holshouser is just the man to make this trio swing like no other. Get ready for a smashing party!
